Let's review the country's situation: Former King Gyanendra
Former King Gyanendra Shah said that even though the system has changed, there has been no qualitative change in the country.
On the occasion of New Year 2081, former King Shah, extending New Year greetings to all the Nepalis in the country and abroad, said that the lack of improvement in the happiness and prosperity of the people is a matter of serious concern.
"In the recent history of Nepal, no matter how much the method, system, words, and form have changed, there has not been any qualitative change in quality and meaning. Today, the concern of common Nepalis is about this issue. Neither the pride of the country has increased, nor has there been a timely improvement in the happiness and prosperity of the countrymen," the King has expressed worry about the pathetic situation of the motherland.
"Senior citizens who know and understand about the past, look sad because of the past glory of them and the nation; the new generation is wandering without seeing their future in the country," said the King Shah.
The former King further stated that it is a serious matter that the youth of the country is migrating. He said, "The intellectual society of the country is becoming depressed and promising young people are migrating, it is a serious issue for the upliftment of the nation." "It is an irony today that the system of education, health, profession, enterprise, production, investment, trade, business and employment is declining."
The King believes that any advanced political system should be able to instil hope, but this has not happened in the country. He said, "Advanced political system should be able to raise the highest achievement and hope. People should be able to create enthusiasm".
"But with us, the unstable situation where we can't take a stand on a certain destination and speed, our own hopes and aspirations and trust are getting disturbed." "This is a matter of national concern."
"Now let's review all that, think seriously, get along, don't forbid anyone and come to a conclusion through proper thinking", the King has asked the countrymen.
