ASK LJUBENKA

Australian Women’s Weekly NZ - - FASHION NEWS -

Dear Ljubenka, I am a curvy woman and I love wearing stripes. But I’ve heard stripes make you look larger. Should I really avoid these when it comes to my fashion choices? I love to wear clothes that make me happy. I love stripes and I wear them a lot, especially in a top or T-shirt. There is something to be said about a chic and classical nautical theme – it’s so fresh. The most flattering option in my opinion is if the stripes are thinner rather than thicker and if you stick to navy, black or charcoal coloured stripes. If you are still unsure about wearing stripes, wear a solid, darker colour jacket or vest over the top. The eye sees a small, thinner panel of stripes and the darker colour draws your silhouette in from your sides. Wearing any colour, print or fabric that makes you happy is a must! Confidence is key.
