A matter of mealtimes

Could losing weight and reducing late-night cravings be as simple as restrictin­g mealtimes to between 8am and 2pm? This is the suggestion put forward by a recent American study. The theory is that if you only consume calories while actively burning them, it will alter fat and carbohydra­te burning patterns. Study participan­ts who ate between 8am and 2pm were not hit by hunger pangs late at night, and kept appetite levels even. But don’t ditch dinner yet – researcher­s say more study is needed to affirm the theory.
