Tanya Zuckerbrot, the dietitian who created the F-Factor Diet, says as long as you keep track of your calorie intake, you don’t have to give up your ritual glass of wine to lose weight. If you are a white wine drinker, stick to sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and riesling, all around 85 calories per glass. If red is more your style, opt for merlot or pinot noir, or even rosé, at about 88 calories. Avoid sweet wines like marsala or sherry, which have around 164 calories. But when compared to other alcoholic beverages, wine is actually a step above the rest.
