Diet study
According to new research, people who follow a vegetarian diet lose weight more quickly than those who just count calories. The six-month study found that the vegetarian group lost an average of 6.2kg compared with 3.2kg in the conventional group. While both diets reduced subcutaneous fat (fat under the skin), the vegetarian diet was more effective for reducing muscular fat, leading to improved metabolism.
