What I like most about working overseas

is… Having an amazing array of new places to explore and new people to meet, and being immersed in world-changing news. What I miss the most about home is…

Decent coffee!

If I had to choose another career, I would

be… I actually don’t know. I love being a journalist and a mum – and I’m currently both those things, so I’m pretty happy.

The item I would save from a fire is… My teddy given to me by my dad when I was two, and a letter given to me by my best friend just before she died of cancer. My favourite pastime is…

Shopping kid-free… or playing with my children (aged four and two). I love seeing them laugh.

My biggest role

model is… I have many – but firstly my mum, who juggled being a working mum and having four children and taught me how important it is to balance both roles; also my husband’s Nan, who never fails to see the positive in everyone and every situation – I want to be like that. Career-wise, I look up to Hilary Barry – such a fab journo and a genuine and honest role model. I can never leave the house without… My

phone – I’m on call 24/7. My biggest inspiration is… My faith and

family. The three words I would use to describe me are… Joyful, tenacious, empathetic. My best piece of advice to my children would be… Be kind to everyone you cross paths with, and also to have dreams and then chase them. The quality I admire most in people is…

Humility and kindness. The bravest thing I have ever done is...

Asking for help when I needed it.

My greatest fear is… Losing a loved one.
