PUT US ON THE MAP

We may be recognised as the first country to give women the vote, and have a Prime Minister who has made headlines around the globe this year, but New Zealand is absent from one of the most obvious places – the world map. Do a Google search and you’ll see it’s missing from many maps, including the United Nations logo. Tourism New Zealand has started a humorous campaign in a bid to put us on the map with an ad starring Jacinda Ardern, Sir Peter Jackson and comedian Rhys Darby. Peter Jackson has a new strategy: it’s time to draw our own map, Middle Earth style, in which New Zealand plays a starring role.
