Our unique culture

The beauty of Maoridom took centre stage for much of the royal tour in New Zealand, from the opening hongi on the lawns of Government House through to the rousing haka that greeted Harry and Meghan on their final day of official duties. At the Te Papaiouru Marae, Meghan was given a kahu huruhuru to wrap her in loving warmth during her pregnancy. On a lighter note, they also enjoyed a boisterous game of “welly-wanging” (Meghan won).
