Testing bright line

The Finance Minister’s defending his request to Treasury — for advice on extending the bright line test. The test requires people to pay income tax when they sell a second property less than five years after they bought it. Before the election, Labour promised its tax plan would not change. Grant Robertson says the test was brought in by National, extended by Labour, and they’re looking at how it works. He says people are getting well ahead of themselves.
