Extended run-time thrusters
VETUS’ NEW EXTENDED run-time thrusters work particularly well with the new all-in-one joystick controls and are suitable for use in adverse conditions such as strong tidal flows or high winds.
Conventional electric bow or stern thrusters operate only for two to four minutes at a time before over-heating but VETUS’ new extended run-time thrusters with 24V motors operate continuously for seven to 10 minutes developing the same thrust force with only a fraction of the heat build-up.
Grant Matthew, product manager at Lusty and Blundell, VETUS New Zealand distributor, says extended run-time thrusters are perfect for the increasing number of boats now employing a single joystick control for their engines and thrusters.
The new thrusters are also ideal for those wanting to dock in areas of strong tidal flow and for high-windage boats berthing in windy conditions. “Inexperienced boaties will also welcome the ability to use their thrusters for longer periods and so too will charter operators offering un-skippered boats for charter,” says Matthew.
Lusty and Blundell is offering free on-site suitability assessments.
“We will talk you through the options and help you decide whether an extended run-time thruster or a conventional thruster is right for you,” says Matthew.
VETUS’ complete thruster range can now be supplied with new high quality aluminium control panels. They feature VETUS’ quiet operation, offer fast, effective and efficient manoeuvring, are easy to install and come complete with clear installation and operation instructions.
