This “Dis-planing” Scott Robson designed Icon 17.2m (R566) Power-cat was commissioned for a discerning South Island client who wanted the ultimate in a spacious cruiser. With their boating playground being the Marlborough Sounds & Cook Strait they have one of the most stunning cruising grounds and you also have one of the most challenging bodies of water in New Zealand.
“Zircon” was built by Icon Custom Boats in Christchurch and is constructed with an Aluminium hull (6mm hull & 5mm sides) with an Epoxy foam core composite deck & superstructure giving the combination of strength through the hull and the ability to mould shape & form into the cabin top. She is powered with twin Cummins 500hp QSC 8.3, with only 290 hours run, and has an inventory stacked with quality machinery, electronics and fittings.
