Athletes perform well
It was Tararua College’s turn to organise the Manawatu Athletics held at the Massey University athletic track recently.
We had 20 students competing which was a great effort but even more remarkably we had our total staff and around 40 student helpers for the day.
Our competitors all performed really well and achieved pleasing results with Louise Powick, our team manager.
This proved to be an extremely successful Manawatu Athletics Event with Jamie Davidson and Dylan Gibson being selected for the National Athletics competition.
Jamie Davidson — AWD 1 in the Shot Put, 1 in the 100m and in the 200m. Dylan Gibson — 1 U16 Boys 100m, 200m and Long Jump. Leah Powick — 1 U16 Girls 100m and 200m. Trudy Jenkins — U 14 Girls 3 in 100m. Zachias McKay — U14 Boys 3 in the 800m and 3 in the Triple Jump.
