Break-ins, burglaries and crashes

Norsewood/Dannevirke/ Pongaroa:

■ On Thursday April 19 Dannevirke police and emergency services attended a fatal motor vehicle accident on State Highway Two just north of the township.

■ At about 3am on April 20 Dannevirke police attended a domestic violence incident. A male assaulted their female partner. The male was arrested and appeared in Palmerston North Court later that same day.

■ Overnight on April 20, there was a burglary at an address on Swinburn Street Dannevirke where three panels of security fence were stolen. The offenders would have required tools to take apart the fencing and a trailer to transport.

■ At about 4.30pm on April 22 the occupant of a Guy Street, Dannevirke address arrived home to find two people — a male and female youth — stealing garden items from a garden shed. The two people left the area before they could be found by police, however police have identified possible suspects and are undertakin­g enquiries.

Eketahuna/Pahiatua/ Woodville:

■ At about 5.30 pm on April 19 two males were observed attempting to break into a car parked on Main Street Pahiatua.

The owner of the vehicle was able to disturb the two males and they ran off before gaining entry.

■ At 5.30 am on April 20 Pahiatua Police attended a vehicle accident on State Highway Two Oringi. A large truck and trailer unit hit wondering stock on the highway. Six stock were killed as a result of the accident.

■ On April 20 a vehicle stolen from Wellington was located abandoned on Crew Street Pahiatua and has been returned to the owner.

■ Also on April 20, Eketahuna police dealt with a disorder incident at a licensed establishm­ent. Police have spoken to and dealt with persons involved.

■ On April 21 Pahiatua police attended a vehicle accident on the Pahiatua Track where a vehicle turned a corner at excess speed and drifted into the oncoming lane hitting a truck travelling in the other direction. The vehicle suffered significan­t damage but no one was injured

■ Also on April 21, Pahiatua police stopped a vehicle driving in town. The driver was disqualifi­ed from driving.

As a result of the vehicle stop police subsequent­ly located three firearms and ammunition that the occupants were not entitled to have.

■ On April 22 Pahiatua police attended a motorcycle accident on Pahiatua Mangahao Road. A rider riding in a group came off his bike. They did not suffer serious injury.

■ Overnight Sunday April 22 a trailer registrati­on 42 BWW was stolen from a commercial yard in Woodville. The trailer was under repair and potentiall­y could not have been towed far.
