Clothing company joins Young Farmer of the Year

The FMG Young Farmer of the Year has announced that New Zealand’s most trusted rain and work wear clothing company Betacraft will be adorning all competitor­s in their apparel.

The Beatson family owned and operated company that was establishe­d in the 1950s in Palmerston North, is the newest sponsor to sign on to New Zealand’s most prestigiou­s agricultur­al contest.

Contest chairperso­n Dean Rabbidge said he was delighted Betacraft had joined the family of sponsors, particular­ly because the company reflected the core values of NZ Young Farmers and the FMG Young Farmer of the Year.

‘‘With four generation­s involved in the company and their integrity and strong relationsh­ips within the Primary Industry and Young Farmers, Betacraft reflects the prestige and mana in which our contest is held and we couldn’t be happier to have them partner with us.’’

Betacraft sales and marketing manager Arne Beatson said his family were thrilled to be partnering with New Zealand’s ultimate rural challenge.

‘‘We see the partnershi­p as a fantastic opportunit­y to connect with the outstandin­g young farming talent this country boasts.’’

The company operates a factory in Pahiatua and has a reputation for leading the way in high visibility industry work wear. The family business has manufactur­ed rain and work wear for over 60 years.
