FROM THE NEWS DESK
This week we welcome hundreds of young rowers from all around the country who have arrived in Cambridge for the 2017 Aon Maadi Cup Regatta, being hosted at Lake Karapiro. It follows on from the North Island Secondary Schools Rowing Championships also held at Karapiro a few weeks earlier. We’re worked hard to bring you a special liftout with a collection of stories looking at the history of Maadi Cup, some familiar faces who have competed at the event and moved on to higher honours, as well as a look at the volunteers who work hard behind the scenes to make it a success. Moving away from sport, there’s lots happening in business around Cambridge as well. A family home will be moved to make more room for muchneeded commercial space near the town centre, opening up more opportunities for commerce. A trio of entrepreneurs have also set up a hub which ideally will be used by home-based business, to conduct meetings and talk with clients.
