Driver tells his life’s tales
Be in to win a copy of John Ford’s exciting new book.
Suicide, unusual deaths and devastating events are what former Waikato man John Ford confronted during his time as an ambulance driver.
He shares it all in his new book From the Driver’s Seat.
The Cambridge Edition has one copy to give away to a lucky reader.
Growing up in the Waikato town of Cambridge in the 1970s, Ford knew he wanted to be an ambulance officer.
That ambition saw him qualify as an Advanced Paramedic in New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland.
He has also wandered other roads such as following his grandfather’s footsteps inside Mt Eden Prison, working as a funeral director and, following a life changing event, becoming the limo driver for one of New Zealand’s most popular broadcasters.
From the Drivers Seat takes readers to places they have never been before, and gives a new appreciation of the people who devote themselves to working in the dangerous yet exciting world of our emergency services.
He now works at Hawke’s Bay Prison.
