On Friday night, the Cambridge Edition held an awards night for the paper’s short-film competition, run as part of the Cambridge Autumn Festival. Two teams from St Peter’s School, Cambridge, Team Anything and Team Sons of David, entered their work to be critiqued by judges. The judges wereAimee Belton, Nikki Crutchley, Christel Yardley and Mark Taylor. The students were certainly enthusiastic in their efforts to make their first short-films, with a lot of effort, time and creative thought put into the productions. While there was a clear winner in the Best Story/ Script and Best Videography sections (Team Sons of David for their flick, Mary), it was a closer race for the Best Actress award, with the prize being split between two up and coming performers, Lucy Hurley and Misty Henderson. A big thank you to Tivoli Cinema, Cambridge, which allowed us to hold the awards night, and to screen the two shortfilms, in one of their theatres. A thank you to our sponsors, Cambridge Photo and Print and Neighbourly.
