Get your foot in the door

-

Kiwis generally lead very busy, active lifestyles, and this can put enormous strain on lower limbs and feet.

More and more people are now realising that feet are a delicate arrangement of joints, ligaments and muscles that deserve the care and attention of an experienced professional.

Podiatrist Lisa Hinchcliff and her two associates at Greenlane Podiatry Clinic – Gill Green and David Lynch – have over 20 years’ experience and are ready to help with all foot and leg pain and problems.

They also perform minor surgeries, assist with arthritis, and treat skin problems such as corns and calluses.

Friendly office manager Maree Nicolle says the team and clients have loved the new premises at 626 Great South Rd since their move in August.

The modern clinic, which they share with TBI Physiotherapy group, has easy parking and access, a comfortable waiting area and spacious gym facility for biomechanics.

Lisa says the reason Greenlane Podiatry has so many regular clients is because of their devotion to ongoing care and support. ‘‘We get to the root of the problem, come up with a unique treatment plan and then provide crucial advice to stop further issues from developing.’’

They will discuss preventative measures, which could be anything from the correct way to cut a toe nail to finding more appropriate, supportive footwear such as orthotic jandals.

Many people try to ignore problems as they fear treatment will be even more painful or embarrassing. However, Lisa says her clients are always pleasantly surprised with how at ease they are during the process.

‘‘I absolutely love what I do because patients come to us in pain and leave with a big smile on their face and a new lease on life – that is immensely satisfying to see,’’ she says.
