Start your ca­reer in fash­ion with a cer­tifi­cate or di­ploma qual­i­fi­ca­tion at the NZ Academy of Fash­ion.

NZ Academy of Fash­ion’s In­ter­na­tional Di­ploma is a prac­ti­cal course which gives you the op­por­tu­nity to fur­ther your stud­ies, work in the in­dus­try or start your own busi­ness.

‘Where fash­ion ca­reers be­gin’ is NZ Academy of Fash­ion’s vi­sion and its cour­ses give stu­dents the prac­ti­cal skills they need to suc­ceed in any level of the fash­ion in­dus­try.

The aim is to fa­cil­i­tate the stu­dent’s learn­ing in a cre­ative en­vi­ron­ment that per­mits them to gain a high level of skills. The re­cruit­ment in­dus­try knows NZ Academy of Fash­ion’s track record in do­ing this.

The Academy of­fers small classes – a one tu­tor to 12 stu­dents ra­tio en­sures an pass rate.

Sub­jects cov­ered are: Pat­tern­mak­ing; gar­ment con­struc­tion; fash­ion draw­ing us­ing Adobe Il­lus­tra­tor; de­sign; drap­ing and his­tory of fash­ion.

Be­cause of its proven ap­proach to learn­ing the

ex­cel­lent Academy is cer­tain that a stu­dent, who at­tends all classes, com­pletes all home­work, par­tic­i­pates in class ac­tiv­i­ties and its fash­ion show will be ready to grad­u­ate at the end of the di­ploma course.

As a pre­req­ui­site to the Di­ploma the Acad- emy has an 18 week Cer­tifi­cate which can be taken sep­a­rately.

The Academy has re­lo­cated to Wil­liam Pick­er­ing Drive and has the fa­cil­i­ties to sup­port a num­ber of cour­ses and work­shops.

Of­fered as stand-alone classes or work­shops are: Pat­tern­mak­ing, drap­ing, ad­vanced gar­ment con­struc­tion and the Acad- emy also of­fers dis­tance cour­ses.

If you want to learn to sew, or ex­tend your sewing skills at the Academy as an adult or af­ter school, they can help with that as well.
