Player voting online

-

Football fans will get a chance to vote for who they think is the top talent in the Lotto Northern Region Football League with a new online public voting system.

The voting process for the competition’s player of the year awards has been opened up to allow players, coaches, referees and fans to name who they think should be recognised.

In the first stage the public is being asked to vote on who they believe has been the best player on each team in a given division.

Stage two of the process will then put those with the highest votes from each team against each other to find the player of the year each division.

The public will also be able to vote for the coach of the year.

Auckland Football chief executive David Parker says the new system is designed to put those directly involved in the league at the centre of the process which honours its top achievers.

The referee of the year award winner is selected by the league’s referee appointments panel.

Stage one of the voting will close on July 25 with stage two commencing on August 1.
