Holiday fun at Motat
Children and adults alike can immerse themselves in fun activities designed to highlight the important role that sound plays in our lives at Motat these school holidays.
Visitors can experience an exciting explosion of sound with the Sound FX Holiday Experience from tomorrow until July 28.
Museum director Michael Frawley says Motat holiday experiences are designed to be an interactive experience for children that is both fun and educational and will keep the whole family entertained.
The highlight of Sound FX will be the The Motat Radio Show, an immersive play that invites kids to join in on the performance.
Other interactive activities include bringing a silent vintage movie to life by creating sound effects, discovering the concept of onomatopoeia through a cartoon storytelling workshop and crafting a musical rain stick.
Additionally the Fonterra Science Roadshow returns with two live daily shows – Balloons and Bernoulli, an investigation into pressure, and The Scientific Pantry which relates science to typical pantry foods and liquids.
‘‘We’re excited that
the Fonterra Science Roadshow is coming back for the third year in a row,’’ Mr Frawley says.
‘‘The shows are relatable and entertaining to visitors of all ages and even parents have been known to learn a thing or two.’’
Motat visitors can enjoy Sound FX and the Fonterra Science Roadshow as part of their general admission fee to Motat.
