Stand up for Barok concerts

-

NZ Barok is an unconventional orchestra – they stand to play and work without a conductor.

But in their upcoming concerts the orchestra members will be working with a conductor for the first time.

The Beyond the Baroque concerts are with early music specialist Peter Walls.

They will feature music from the classical period including Mozart’s beloved Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.

Also joining the group is virtuoso soloist Erin Helyard playing a harpsichord concerto by CPE Bach and a Mozart fortepiano concerto.

‘‘Our audiences will be able to hear the glorious colours of Mozart and CPE Bach on the instruments they were written for,’’ artistic codirector Graham McPhail says.

Beyond the Baroque is on August 3 and 4 at 2pm at St Luke’s Church, 130 Remuera Rd, Remuera.
