Matakana wed­ding expo ‘not to be missed’

Ev­ery­thing to do with wed­dings fea­tures in the in­au­gu­ral Wed­dings Matakana Expo on Sun­day.

The Matakana Coast is grow­ing in pop­u­lar­ity as a wed­ding lo­ca­tion with its beaches, vine­yards and set­tings.

All the area has to of­fer prospec­tive part­ners will be show­cased at the Matakana Coun­try Park from 10am to 4pm.

Record reser­va­tions are be­ing re­ceived at many of the area’s venues, in­volv­ing more than 250 busi­nesses, or­gan­iser Sue Tr­us­cott says.

Many of th­ese busi­nesses will be rep­re­sented at the ex­hi­bi­tion, or in the Wed­dings Matakana Directory in print or on wed­dings

‘‘We have re­ceived an over­whelm­ing re­sponse from the var­i­ous prod­ucts and ser­vices to our lo­cal wed­ding in­dus­try,’’ Ms Tr­us­cott says.

She says ex­hibitor space is al­most sold out.

The expo will be an in­ter­ac­tive ex­pose of all the re­gion has to of­fer, from wine tast­ing to canape sam­pling, to hair and makeup demon­stra­tions and with mod­els parad­ing the lat­est bri­dal wear, day and af­ter­five wear to mu­sic, Ms Tr­us­cott says.

In­cluded are re­cep­tion venues, ac­com­mo­da­tion, churches, cel­e­brants, cater­ers, pho­tog­ra­phers, hair, makeup, jewellery, florists, in­vi­ta­tions, hire and rental, trans­port, wed­ding plan­ning and de­sign, and hen and stag events.

‘‘If you are get­ting mar­ried, plan­ning a wed­ding or think­ing about hav­ing a party, then this is an event not to be missed.’’

The expo is spon­sored by Bride and Groom Mag­a­zine, the Rod­ney Times, Wark­worth Event and Party Hire, GeekFree web­site de­sign, Hal­cyon De­sign and Des­ti­na­tion Matakana.
