Day out with Thomas and friends

-

Bulgy the grumpy doubledecker bus will join his mate Thomas the Tank Engine at the Glenbrook Vintage Railway this weekend.

Trevor the Traction Engine, Rusty the little narrow gauge diesel locomotive, Terence the Tractor and Caroline the Fat Controller’s Car will also be at the Day Out With Thomas on Saturday and Sunday.

Bulgy will be taking passengers for jaunts around the beautiful Franklin (sorry – Sodor) countryside while Sir Topham Hatt the Fat Controller will, as usual, be keeping everything running smoothly.

The 12km train rides behind the Glenbrook Vintage Railway steam engines are the highlight of the weekend and all of the engines will be sporting their ‘‘awesome’’ faces.

Thomas will also be offering free rides in his trucks for those who buy tickets for the train rides.

There will also be Thomas storytelling, colouring-in, a bouncy castle, face painting and plaster model painting.

The first train departs at 10am each day and locomotives will run every 30 minutes until 4pm. Fares cost $25 for adults, $10 for children 4 to 14 (under-4s are free) or $65 for a family.

To get to Glenbrook Vintage Railway follow the DruryWaiuku route off the Southern Motorway and turn left into Glenbrook Station Rd at Glenbrook.

The railway is signposted. Entry and parking are free.
