Thieves hit schools

External speakers at public schools are the latest targets of thieves. Inspector Vaughn Graham says there have been reports of school PA system speakers being stolen from across Auckland. Graham says offenders are removing cages from around external speakers before taking off with them. It is disappointing and will cost a lot to replace, he says. Graham is appealing for information on the thefts and expects the speakers are being used as car stereo systems.
