TEEN GIRL GRABBED

-

Police are investigating a report of a girl being grabbed by a stranger on her way to school. Police say the 15-year-old was approached by an unknown man while walking in an alleyway in Onehunga on July 28. The alleged incident happened between 9.10am and 9.30am.

The girl’s mother says the man grabbed the girl from behind while she was walking to catch the bus and told her to keep quiet. The girl was able to free herself from the offender and run away, police say. The incident allegedly occurred in an walkway between Santos Pl andWaitangi St. Police are continuing their investigation and say they will provide more updates when they are available. The girl’s mother says she was worried that her daughter had become a victim of the ‘‘serial groper’’ who has reportedly assaulted a number of women in Onehunga. However she says her daughter’s description of the man didn’t seem to match that of the groper.
