Just like family at Molly’s Preschool
Step into Molly’s Preschool and you’ll likely find a settled, naturally curious group of two-to-five year olds going about their day.
First thought is, how is this group so well-adjusted and happy?
Molly’s director Kelly Browne believes that by keeping the childteacher ratio low and having both young and older children together, they watch and learn from each other and gain trust – just like a family.
‘‘The younger children learn so much from observation, and the older children quickly develop an empathy with the young ones,’’ Kelly says. ‘‘It helps the children to settle in and socialise, an important development towards their later school environment.’’
Open since March 2016, Molly’s roll is capped at 40 children, creating a homely, boutique atmosphere in this secure St Lukes centre.
The children enjoy a variety of activities, both teacher initiated and child directed, in a nurturing and supportive environment.
‘‘We encourage independence, with positive guidance,’’ Kelly says.
Well-resourced classrooms and a large outdoor space, set up with a variety of experiences provides a stimulating environment that allows children to follow their interests.
‘‘The children learn so quickly, by just observing others’’ Kelly says.
Children bring their own lunchboxes.
‘‘Apart from an allergy safeguard, they learn to become more independent and develop a sense of responsibility for their belongings – again it’s good preparation for school.’’
Open from 7am–6pm. Half-days sessions 8–12 noon and 12–4pm, full days 8am–4pm any extra hours charged at hourly rate. Molly’s offers 20 hours ECE Free – a completely free service with halfday and full-day options. An initial discount for new two-year- old registrations is currently available.
Thanks to many word-of- mouth recommendations the good word is going round the neighbourhood about Molly’s.
