Rawhiti Estate succeeds bowling club

-

After a century of operation, the Rawhiti Bowling Club is making way for Remuera’s newest boutique retirement village: Rawhiti Estate.

The bowling club enjoyed a rich history with Remuera locals until numbers started to fall in recent years. The bowling club was subsequently put on the market and sold to BeGroup. The proceeds were paid to Auckland Bowls who distributed the funds to benefit other bowling clubs in the region.

The team at BeGroup were eager to pick up from where the Rawhiti Bowling Club left off, with the belief of creating a lasting asset and home for the elderly of Remuera. The vision for Rawhiti Estate is centred around boutique residential care for the elderly which matches the community values and design of the area.

Rawhiti Estate has been architecturally designed to fit seamlessly into the Remuera community. This purposeful design replicates much of the typical architecture of the area. The design has been carefully crafted around the concept of creating small neighbourhoods, where people can contribute to and feel part of a village community.

The facilities include extensive common areas, an atrium garden, heated swimming pool, spa pool, beauty salon, theatre and a hub that transforms from a coffee lounge to a bar at cocktail hour.

The bowling club demolition commenced in

August with the help of Argon Construction who have been commissioned by BeGroup to build the retirement village. The team at Argon have a strong reputation for their quality workmanship as well as a strong commitment to health and safety.

Currently Argon Construction are stripping the soil and working on excavations. The next few months will see the associated infrastructure be put in place including concrete, services and water treatment. The build of Rawhiti Estate will be completed by July 2018.

Rawhiti Estate is the first design-and-build facility for BeGroup and will include 27 luxury independent living apartments, and 68 premium resthome, dementia and hospital-level care rooms. BeGroup are now selling the independent living apartments, and as expected, the response has been fantastic.
