Scammers are using forged invoices to swindle companies out of expensive electronic equipment. Police said overseas scammers are using false email addresses, with domains similar to well-known universities, to target the companies. The scammers send forged university invoices to businesses, requesting various electronic equipment such as hard drives, camera equipment, computers and phones. Once the goods are shipped, recovering them becomes impossible, police said. If a similar invoice is received, police advise contacting the relevant university to check the legitimacy of the request.
