It is a political reality that both National and Labour know - shown in the decision by Labour on Wednesday to ditch long serving deputy and Wellingtonian Annette King in favour of young, liberal Aucklander Jacinda Ardern.

As New Zealand’s biggest city, most diverse ethnic melting pot and thriving business hub, Auckland voters have the power to decide the next government.
