-

A programme aimed at addressing New Zealand’s appalling family violence statistics has been awarded $638,000 from the annual Warehouse Group Gala Dinner. Parenting Place and The Salvation Army are working in partnership to deliver Breakthrough, which will support fathers with a history of violence to build healthy, safe family relationships. The two year programme, which kicks off in February, involves three components: a parenting course for fathers with a history of violence; an intensive, personalised mentoring programme; and a transformational three-day father-child adventure experience. It costs about $1000 for a participant to go through the programme.
