POURERERE BEACH CAMPING IN PUBLIC AREAS

Central Hawkes Bay District Council in association with the ‘Pourerere Beach Camping Committee’ will again be using a system of ‘PreRegistration Permits’ for campers wishing to use designated ‘Beach Camping’ sites in public areas at Pourerere Beach over the coming summer camping period.

NO PERSON(s) is allowed to ‘Beach Camp’ at Pourerere Beach

This applies at all times.

On 25th September 2018 APPLICATIONS open for a site during the period 17 December 2018 and 6 February 2019 (inclusive) for periods of up to 14 days duration. They must be received at Council by 5.00pm on Friday 12th October 2018. Site allocations will be notified in writing to successful (and unsuccessful) applicants by Friday 16th November 2018. PLEASE NOTE that if site applications exceed the available space, the allocating Committee reserves the right to reduce allocations to 7 days if required. This may especially apply to the period 17 December 2018 to 6 January 2019.

EACH APPLICATION for a ‘permit’ during the above dates MUST be accompanied by the administration fee of $35 per permit. Payment may be made by internet banking ‘direct credit’ by contacting the email address below for details of account numbers etc. Payment can also be made by cheque with the application form if mailing or by cash or EFTPOS at the Council offices in Waipawa or Waipukurau when delivering an application in person.

NO FEE: NO PROCESSING OF APPLICATION. Due to the expected high demand an application may not necessarily result in a site allocation. Unsuccessful applicants will have their ‘administration fee’ refunded.

Applications MUST include:

• Full name of applicant(s)

• Full postal address of applicant including postcode

• Contact phone number for applicant

• Dates that a site is required for (up to 14 days)

• Mode of camping (e.g. tent, caravan, campervan etc)

• Number of adults & children in group

Application forms are available from Council offices in Waipawa and Waipukurau, on the Council website www.chbdc.govt.nz ,ora letter containing the above information can be sent to the address below. E-mail applications will also be accepted at the e-mail address below providing the above information is included. However e-mail applications will not be processed until the ‘administration fee’ set out above is received by Council.
