Vintage speedway

Hi Tony, first of all it’s nice to see people like Andy Buchanan passing on treasures he had and avoiding the dump scenario. A sad end to so much history which is often lost.

The article about V8-60s had me sitting a little straighter in the chair. My club, the Auckland Vintage Speedway Club is making our next meeting (23 March) a focus on these midgets. So far we have 12-14 cars whose owners have agreed to come out and play. Most will be on track although a couple will only be static. With our other cars supporting the V8s, chances are we could hit the 30 mark in car count, with VW, Willys, Holden & TQ Midgets, Vintage stockcars, and solo bikes bringing back memories. I’d be happy to forward photos of the event as a follow up. Hope we see more of Andy’s treasures.
