Mitchelli’s splendid Italian
family-style restaurant was our favourite lunch stop in the Lanes behind High Street in Christchurch before the earthquakes flattened the area.
Now Mitchelli’s is up and running again at the up-styled Tannery in Woolston. And just as good. Ewan Mitchell is the man behind the project and daughters Penny and Georgina provide splendid service once again.
My favourite on the busy menu? Nested Eggs. An egg nested amongst a potato, spring onion and smoky ham hash, baked and sprinkled with chilli flakes. $14.50. Brilliant. Well worth the drive across town.
