A BOOST FOR NEW ‘GOOD’ FOOD MAKERS

-

What is ‘good’ food? Well for the team at Good Food Boost it means considering more than just a company’s bottom-line profits. It’s thinking about where food comes from, how it’s grown and made, and where it goes to, both in terms of the consumer and if it’s going to be food waste. As the name says, The Good Food Boost is a free mentoring programme that provides support and guidance from leading mentors to give fledgling good food businesses a boost. The winners for 2020 are: Ecology & Co (ecologyandco.com) a social enterprise and artisan producers of distilled alcohol-free spirits, crafted here in New Zealand; Olive and Ash (facebook. com/oliveandashnz) producers of plantbased whole foods including activated raw organic granola and vegetable mince (Vince); Niue Honey Company (facebook. com/niue-honey-company-save-thebee-1701305423436663) a social venture adding value to organic honey imported from Niue and helping safeguard the future of all honey bees globally; and Glass Bottle Milk (glassbottlemilk.com) a milk vending machine service for supermarkets and cafés that aims to reduce single-use plastics. sustainable.org.nz/good-food-boost
