CARE SERVICE AND SUPPORT

-

For more than five decades, Stevens Group has been providing equipment, parts, and aftermarket services throughout New Zealand and has evolved from a modest garage-based manufacturing and engineering venture into one of the leading companies in the outdoor machinery sector.

Along with the brands represented by the business, Stevens Group ensures comprehensive support for its customers. Parts, sales, and training are all part of the company’s extensive system. The company has more than 15 brands in the group portfolio. Some of the popular ones in the chipping and processing sector include Morbark and Doppstadt, which cover the forestry/biomass and recycling industries. Both brands are long-established and known for their solid reputations in their sectors.

Customer care

Stevens Group trains customers on how to effectively get the most out of their machines, safety guidelines, and short-term troubleshooting, which can include in-classroom and hands-on sessions.

Drawing on the expertise of brand trainers who regularly visit Stevens Group, the training programme incorporates the latest information and techniques.

Morbark technical and service training

During a recent visit to Stevens Group’s facility in Auckland, the Morbark Dealer Development Team conducted Advanced Industrial Service and Parts training sessions for Stevens Group specialists.

Known for their diverse range of woodchippers, from small commercial units to whole-tree production units, the latest training aims to enhance the Stevens’ service team’s understanding of customers’ needs and minimise machine downtime.

Stevens Group says the training will ensure the Morbark equipment they supply will meet customers’ productivity requirements and also reassure them, from the initial enquiry through to the commissioning and working life of the machine.

Doppstadt technical and service training

Doppstadt, a manufacturer of a wide range of solutions for recycling and environmental technology, recently assigned a trainer from the Doppstadt Training Academy to conduct recycling training at Stevens Group’s Auckland facility.

Academy trainer Philip Schwingel provided field service and workshop staff with a technical overview of the Doppstadt product portfolio, followed by a combination of practical workshop exercises and classroom-based learning. This helped attendees gain an insight into the operation and maintenance of the METHOR, INVENTHOR, AK, SM, and

SELECTOR models, the structure of hydraulic, engine, electric components, troubleshooting, and the use of DoppDiagnostic software.

Additional topics covered the commissioning and introduction of Doppstadt machines on customers’ sites, highlights of the machines, and application purposes.

North and South Island

With a nationwide reach, Stevens is well-equipped to deliver quality plant and equipment service to maximise customer productivity and profitability.

Modern in-house workshop facilities and mobile field service trucks complete the customer experience, ensuring that the equipment purchased can be maintained in peak operating condition.

Spare parts are held at Stevens’ head office facility in Auckland and the South Island branch in Christchurch, enabling service technicians to access spare parts for service and repairs as required.

Strategic sales approach

Stevens Group says their staff are instrumental in driving customer satisfaction and helping them maximise revenue by helping provide exceptional sales and after-sales services.

The company’s strategic approach to sales/after-sales service cultivates long-term customer relationships and supports Stevens Group’s commitment to excellence.

Bernie Schweighofer represents the business in the North Island forestry and recycling sector and has extensive knowledge and skills in both sectors.

Meanwhile, Lionel Stanners looks after the North Island screening and crushing portfolio, drawing on his experience in sales and heavy equipment to promote Stevens’ range of screening, crushing, and conveying equipment.
