Faster, more powerful, pulse valves for dust filters

-

Dust pulse valves are often used for cleaning dust filter bags in industrial or process applications. A range of German designed valves from Norgren has been developed to provide several innovative features that offer efficient cleaning and energy savings.

Dust filter cleaning systems (often known as bag houses) play a vital role in many industries to filter particles and stop them from entering the environment – from milk powders to cement powder through to MDF board plant dust particles.

Compressed air is used to provide a short, intense blast into the soiled filter element, and then dust and containments fall from the filter where they are removed.

There are several key components to the technology of dust pulse valves from Norgren. The diaphragm has to operate extremely rapidly, to provide optimum cleaning by reaching a set point quickly. The one-piece moulded design diaphragm provides an improvement in valve opening times, generating steep pressure increases.

The switch on response is 38 milliseconds with a total pulse on and off cycle time of 165ms from a 50ms electrical pulse.

The high f low design of the Norgren dust valves provides a lower pressure difference between the valve and the dust filter bag, enabling lower operating pressures.
