DEMM Engineering & Manufacturing
Emex is back and bigger than ever
EMEX is back for 2014 from 27 to 29 May at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds – attracting the biggest names in engineering, manufacturing, machinery, electronics and technology.
“The response from visitors and exhibitors has been fantastic,” says EMEX sales manager Mike Lust. “More than 35 percent of exhibitors are new to EMEX, and registrations from industry professionals for free visitor passes are growing.”
Among the firms taking part this time around is Eurotec, a New Zealand-owned company that operates in the refrigeration, HVAC, electrical and instrumentation space.
European manufacturers represented include Trafag and KSR Kubler from Switzerland, Alre and Benning from Germany, Benedict from Austria, Relpol from Poland, as well as MAC3, Giovenzana, Texelco and Alfa from Italy.
And the issue of workplace health, safety and security will be covered by, among others, HazTec. It will be looking at the safety of staff handling dangerous goods at work, says the firm’s Shelley Nankivell.
“Few employers would deliberately put their employees at risk, but sometimes good intentions don’t quite make it into reality,”she says.
At EMEX the firm is offering a free hazardous substances ‘health check’.
Seminar topics include innovation strategy, the economy and how it affects manufacturers, supply chain, retention of manufacturing in New Zealand, and market research and marketing.
