How to eliminate foreign matter

-

Bringing a top quality product to market in a streamlined way is a priority for Weston Milling. It has installed new magnetic separators into its large f lourmill cleaning system with the help of Aurora.

The firm supplied the mill with high-performance magnetic separators that included an automatic cleaning unit.

Ian Ellis, who runs the Weston Mill in Christchurch, says: “The gear we got was perfect for the application required. From a project management perspective the designs were perfect and we were spot on with the budget.”

For Ian, the project was as much about safety as it was quality

He says: “The main benefit is we are catching any metal that is coming into the sites early. That minimises the risk of dust explosions. The new magnets are more efficient at detecting more metal fragments.”

From project management through to commissioning of the new system, Aurora provided a streamlined service with clear communication, delivering on time and to budget.

“They are really easy to work with. It was a complicated build but throughout they kept us informed. They delivered to what we expected,” says Ian. “We were always kept up to date throughout the project and we intend to deal with Aurora again.”

Aurora Process Solutions provide specialist magnetic separators for a range of industry with niche capability in the food and diary sectors.

Foreign matter is an increasing priority in the process industry with an increasingly savvy consumer and rapidly growing demand for guaranteed product integrity.
