Swiss Engineering - Kiwi Ingenuity
Known for our incredible ergonomic flexibility, New Zealanders have finally been given a helping hand by some incredibly flexible Swiss Engineering. Zünd cutting systems have the ability to cut, route, v-cut and even crease, an incredibly diverse range of substrates and fabrics. Supported locally by the well known and respected Aarque Group, they offer up to 17 different sized digital cutting systems in working widths from 1330mm to 3200mm. Mitch Boocock of Aarque explains “We typically find that Kiwi companies are conducting some amazing research in to composites, they develop products and the perfect methods for manufacturing them, and they have to invent and reinvent themselves constantly. Zund Cutters allow clients to build prototypes or produce highly specialised components in short runs for customers with the most stringent quality requirements. “We are finding our clients express interest in the cutters for a specific reason, then suddenly find once up and running they are producing bespoke packaging, light-weight building products, cutting all manner of products in house that they had always outsourced, and are experimenting with more technical textiles such as carbon fibres and technical fabrics. Even though just about every Formula One team has a Zund Cutter, they are affordable enough to finance at less than one skilled persons wage. Given that they never need a pay-rise or holidays, that makes the ROI pretty attractive!”
