The recent acquisition by Steel & Tube of Fortress Fasteners’ manufacturer, MSL is set to boost the expertise and specialist knowledge of the country’s biggest steel distributor and create knock-on benefits for customers.

The acquisition will see MSL’s extensive product offering advantaged by S&T’s nationwide network. The company ensures same-day delivery to virtually every city in New Zealand.

MSL are stockists of more than 300 million imperial and metric-sized fasteners. Their range includes mild steel and high tensile bolts and nuts, screws, threaded rod, washers and rivets, socket products cutting tools, masonry anchors, sealants and compounds, hose clamps, hand and air tools and accessories.

The company’s iconic Fortress brand which became a market leader after its introduction in 1997 is stocked by all major retail hardware chains.

MSL’s team of industrial account managers provide expert knowledge and advice to manufacturers of furniture, heavy machinery and sporting goods as well as aluminium jointers, prenail framers and trussers and general engineers.

As New Zealand’s pre-eminent fastenings business MSL will continue to trade under its existing brand from its nine locations in Auckland (Avondale and Albany), Hamilton, Mount Maunganui, Hastings, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington and Christchurch.
