Dyno a headliner for one of New Zealand’s oldest newspapers

-

When Marty Patterson, Chief Engineer at the Otago Daily Times, needed a new conveyor system it didn’t take him long to contact Dyno. He already knew the product and its quality, having purchased Dyno equipment previously through an intermediary. This time he needed something that was exclusive to ODT and its particular publishing needs; because of the complexity of the project, he needed to deal with Dyno direct. Dyno was also kept foremost in his mind by the regular contact the sales consultants made with the newspaper’s office, reminding Patterson that they were there when and if needed. Patterson needed two Belt Conveyors – one at 11m and one at 19m – and a spiral conveyor. That last requirement was the perfect opportunity for Dyno to introduce Patterson to its UltraSlip product, which is unique to Dyno.

It was all smooth sailing from the start, says Patterson. “We talked through our needs with the team at Dyno, gave them a sample of what we wanted with the worst scenarios that could happen and they went away with it. They came back with a solution and after a bit of tweaking here and there, we awarded them the contract. Certainly price had something to do with it as the quote was cost-effective but the team delivered; not a problem. There were never any issues during the process and what we’ve got as a result is great. That’s the advantage of dealing direct and having first-hand support from the sales team. Dyno kept us seamlessly in the loop and we always knew where we were with them. This eliminated any potential stress. Our new Dyno conveyor system is robust, durable and looks impressive.”
