EIS Automation and Electrical, took out the top spot at the 2017 Master Electricians Excellence Awards.

In addition to claiming the overall Master Electricians Excellence Award, EIS also took home the Skills Industrial Automation Award for its work on the new, state- of-the- art waste water treatment plant in Queenstown after gaining finalist spots in three categories of the Awards.

EIS CEO, Dean Addie, said he and the staff at EIS were elated with the win. “It’s an honour to receive such high recognition at a national level,” he said.

Addie said the treatment plant utilised unique electrical and automation systems and efficiency management, with their team working hard to provide effective, innovative solutions.

Feedback from the judges on EIS’ entry highlighted exceptional planning, workmanship, innovation, and initiative in every area of the project – all attributes displaying and exemplifying excellence. EIS has offices in Invercargill, Christchurch and Timaru, and works on industrial electrical and automation engineering projects throughout New Zealand.

The biennial Awards celebrate excellence in the electrical industry and provide recognition for electrical and automation contractors who produce innovative solutions and quality workmanship in challenging electrical projects.

There had been a record number of entries in the Awards this year and Master Electricians’ Chief Executive, Neville Simpson, said judges visited a wide variety of projects before narrowing down the 18 finalists across six categories.

“The Awards are a great opportunity for businesses to showcase their workmanship and innovation, and be given the chance to compete with industry peers,” Simpson said.
