It was the goldfish, your Honour!

THE ONLY thing about this fish tank that was a lit tle bit different was that it was a fairly high-tech one. It had Internet connectivity so it could be remotely monitored, have its temperature and salinity automatically adjusted, and food remotely deposited.

So far, so innocuous. The tank's communications with the casino's network appeared normal enough but hackers managed to steal around 10 gigabytes of data - via the tank's thermometer – from the American casino it was displayed in before anyone noticed. Ten gigs might not seem a lot, but any stolen data in the wrong hands is dangerous.
