DEMM Engineering & Manufacturing
Sixty years strong
Steel & Tube has come a long way from its beginnings in 1953, navigating its way through various expansions, restructures and alignments to become one of New Zealand’s top 50 companies on the New Zealand Stock Exchange.
The firm’s most recent acquisition, S&T Stainless, positions Steel & Tube as a leading supplier of steel products and services, with a presence in 48 locations nationwide.
Its product range includes steel, stainless steel, piping, roofing, purlins, reinforcing, mesh, chain and rigging, fasteners and industrial products. This product range services a wide spectrum of industries across the country, in particular its core engineering and manufacturing customers.
Steel & Tube use highquality products and solutions from reputable brands and source materials from accredited steel mills, providing full traceability
and compliance with New Zealand, Australian and international standards.
Its systems track the complete lifecycle of all its steel products. Through unique identity numbers, manufacturing line codes, batch test certificates, third-party chemical analysis and all the way back to the mill certification where the material was originally produced.
The firm’s involvement in such ground-breaking and innovating projects as Wellington’s National War Memorial Park, Auckland’s Waterview Connection, the Hamilton Avantidrome, Christchurch Transitional Cathedral and the Len Lye Centre in New Plymouth, highlights the firm’s commitment to continued investment in New Zealand and its ability to deliver substantial technical expertise to the most complex projects.
Most importantly, it demonstrates Steel & Tube’s stability, resilience and commitment to excellence, which stand it in excellent stead for the next 60 years.
