USA claims sustainable initiatives in operations and packaging

The USA’s Association

for Packaging and Processing Technologies (PMMI) says its local industry – particularly food and beverage, household and personal care, and healthcare packaging segments – are adopting sustainable practices to meet the increased demand of consumers. The Breaking Down Sustainable Packaging infographic purports to show this trend and PMMI’s director of business intelligence, Paula Feldman says the body is seeing more green options in packaging – recyclable, reusable and degradable – as manufacturers reduce source material creating lighter primary and secondary packaging thus reducing waste. “We expect this practice to increase in the coming years as CPGs strive to meet consumer demand,” she states.
