Five best cafes for winter

-

Cosy up at one of these caffeine induced hotspots

If you love to spend gloomy afternoons sipping coffee wrapped by a fireplace, these are the cafes for you:

1. REVEL, KARANGAHAPE ROAD

Revel is a pokey little hole-in-thewall, nestled away on chaotic K’RD. But looks are deceiving: step inside and you’re surrounded by colour and comfort. Take shelter from the storm and curl up in one of the cafe’s many nooks and crannys, playing on the arcade tables or at the magnet story-wall.

2. REMEDY COFFEE, WELLESLEY STREET WEST

You’d be forgiven for thinking you’d stepped into someone’s living room when you walk into Remedy. Shelves of books and board-games line the walls of this homely, no-fuss cafe. It’s easy to lose hours sitting in this cafe, and we recommend you do.

3. CORNWALL PARK CAFE, ONE TREE HILL

Cornwall Park Cafe is a homely haven. Drape yourself in one of their blankets and enjoy quality, rustic food and coffee.

4. FACT-TREE CAFE, SUNNYNOOK

If sitting at a cafe table isn’t your style, cosy up in one of Fact-tree’s couches instead. This cool and airy cafe has all the comforts of home, with the added benefit of delicious cabinet food and Supreme-brand coffee.

5. MEADOW, MEADOWBANK

Whether you’re after a coffee or a sit-down dinner, you’ll feel at home at Meadow. The enclosed courtyard, complete with rustic fireplace and ethereal lights, is the perfect place to stay warm and dry with a latte in hand.
