ACG has a new principal
After searching far and wide, ACG Senior College has a new principal.
Tracey Dykstra has been announced as the new leader for the Auckland school located within the CBD.
She replaces Kathy Parker who moved on to Chilton Saint James in Wellington in June 2015 and had led the college for 10 years.
When Parker left, Larne Edmeades (executive principal of ACG Schools) took the reins in the interim..
Dykstra comes from an educational background and was previously head of teaching and learning at St Kentigern’s College.
Prior to that she was the deputy principal of Baradene College.
She has a wealth of experience with an international career in education spanning three decades, including nine years at senior management level.
Dykstra says she was attracted to the pre-university environment at the college, which offers two international curriculums for students in years 11 to 13.
‘‘There are no other coeducational private schools like it in New Zealand,’’ she says.
The school’s city centre campus was also a drawcard as Dykstra says it offers opportunity for connections with culture, business and tertiary institutions.
Dykstra officially starts on November 1.
