Variety of species all in close

-

There has been some stunning weather, a bit windy at times but nothing too extreme, which has meant us fishos were able to get out there and start fishing.

Lots of fish are out there right now, snapper, kingfish, kahawai and trevally, not to mention some awesome dory that are coming in.

Most of the bigger fish especially snapper are in close.

If you’ve gone past 10 or 12 metres you’ve gone too far!

Berley will be your best friend when it comes to landing any species at the moment.

Slow jigs, soft baits and bait are all good ways to land those snapper, but you may want to switch to a good old-fashioned stray-line rig with a nice bit of mullet or squid (squid season is upon us) to try and steer clear of the masses of kahawai that are around right now.

The top baits are mullet, squid and bullet tuna.

So, until next week... Tight Lines!
