Going’s good in the Firth

-

The Firth of Thames has really started to fire up, with big work-ups, heaps of kahawai and plenty of large snapper for us to get our hands on.

Lots of anglers are coming back from their fishing expeditions with a happy grin on their faces and a full chillybin.

The Happy Jacks are holding nice fish, quite a few of them up to 20lb!

These fish can be found in less than 20 meters in this area, but you will need some heavier line and a nice big bait, or heavy slow jig, to land these fantastic fish.

If you don’t want to travel too far, why not check out Parks Point, which has also started to produce some fantastic eating fish.

You can find kahawai, snapper and the odd legal kingfish to take home for the dinner table.

The top baits at the moment are mullet, mackerel and squid.

So, until next week... Tight Lines!
